St Louis June 6th-14th

Its been along time since I have had time to blog...So here it comes...We had a great time on vacation. We ended up leaving on Friday night around 8:30. Marc & I thought lets see how far we can get while the kids are sleeping and then Saturday won't be so bad. We drove until 1:00 am and found a Super8 hotel in Dwight, Indiana. Saturday when we got up it was really nasty. Windy, raining, and just plain creepy looking outside. We made it to George & Shirley's around 4 on Saturday. They have a beautiful home and were so great to us. The kids had a blast with the horses, and just being outside. Everybody knows I am a city girl I was out of my element for sure. But I definitely relaxed, and I needed that. Its amazing what happens when you can't use your cell phone. We rode horses, and the quad. We went fishing, and to a fish hatchery to see the fish, and got ice cream. We just enjoyed family! We spent Saturday until Wednesday afternoon at their home and then travel back to St.Louis until Saturday June 14th. While in St. Louis we went to the Arch. I had never see it before and was pretty amazed. It is so big. You really don't realize it until you are standing underneath it and looking up, but its really tall!! On Thursday we went to Six Flag's. The kids had been waiting for that. They were so excited. It was so hot that day. But we were all real troopers. We slathered on the sunscreen and drank lots of water. It was so fun to see the kids so happy. They truly had a great time. Aaron rode his first real roller coaster. We met Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Froghorn Leghorn, Peppy La Pew, and a bunch more but the highlight was meeting Scooby & Shaggy and seeing the Mystery Machine. Aaron & Zoe LOVE I mean LOVE Scooby Doo. We are still talking about it. On Friday we travel to the St. Louis Zoo. It was a really rainy cold day, but we figured oh well, its either go or hang out in a hotel room! We had fun. It would rain and stop, rain and stop. So we just did our best. They had really cool animals, a lot you don't see at home. After the zoo we went to this really cool place called the "Magic House". If you ever go to St.Louis with kids and you need to be inside go here. Trust me!! It is this 4 level house filled and I mean FILLED with anything and everything a kids could imagine. From the water, and sand tables and the tree house and cranes to a pizza parlor that they could pretend to make pizza and serve the parents, to a grocery store, and even a bank with an ATM that gave out money well it was fake but it was so cool. It is so great as a parent to watch your children use there imaginations. I love it. Its so amazing how great the little mind can be. So go with your kids here. I was whipped so was everyone, but it was a great way to spend our last rainy afternoon. We came home on Saturday the 14th and we were so happy to be home. We all missed Koda and just wanted to sleep in our own beds! I love vacation but its so nice to be home to.
