Memed

One of my best friends Cari had this on her blog..its called "memed" and this is how is works.... I am supposed to share six "unspectacular quirks" about myself with the world. Then hope that I still have friends! I then tag six unsuspecting, yet potentially very interesting people to do the same. Okay, so here goes......

I have a thing about animal crackers and they have to be in the freezer before I eat them, otherwise yuck, and you have to eat the head first and then the legs before the body. Marc thinks it morbid but I have to do it this way or I don't know its just wrong to do it any other way....strange huh??

The dishes MUST be in the dishwasher or done before I go to bed. This might not be to weird but it is when you can't sleep and I have to get up and do them no matter what time it is. I can't stand to get up in the morning with dishes in my sink. It drives me crazy!

I can't eat a banana if it still has those little string things still on it. I know its all in my head but that's just yucky.

Most people know this but those who don't well....I am always, always late. Not sure why doesn't matter how hard I try to be somewhere on time I will always be late. At least by a few minutes. I really try hard. I have even changed the clocks in my house to be fast, but it doesn't help. I will be late for my own funeral I am sure. It drives Marc nuts, and my brother too :)

I can't eat chicken off the bone. I will pull it off then eat it but it is just yucky off the bone.

I work best under pressure or some might say procrastinate! I do my best work when I do it at the last minute. It doesn't matter if its for school, or my job. I can write the best papers or crunch the numbers better when I wait. Not sure why this is because I don't do everything this way. It just seems like when my brain is under extra pressure it works faster. Not sure if that makes any sense at all??

OH I have 7.....

It doesn't matter what time of the year it is I MUST always have my toes nails painted. Not really sure why. Always kinda had a thing for feet.

Coast Guard

They are such beautiful girls!

I love this smile!!

It seems like once the Coast Guard week starts and ends you know that summer is just about over. The kids had a blast as usually. It was a fun week of parades, rides, cook-outs, and family. The only difference this year is we had Marc all week. He didn't drive the fire truck this year for either parades and he went with the kids and I to the fireworks this year which was nice for all of us. Unfortunately this was the last Coast Guard with Adam and the kids next year at this time they will be living on a new Navy base. I am glad I was able to capture these shots. Even though they are nieces and nephew Marc and I feel like they are our own kids....Aaron even refers to Noah as his big brother. Its so cute. We will miss them.....

Its been a long time I know......

Its been awhile since I have had time to blog. We are having a busy summer and by the time night comes I am going to sleep! Here are a few shot of the kids having some summer fun.
Zoe being Zoe I love that smile. I made Aaron stand by the door at the cabin.
He is always to busy to take pictures.
Zoe's going to be a model she already has the pose down!
Grandpa spoiled them again. They love the bounce house.
At the beach. Aaron was in the water the entire time...

We went swimming at Grandpa & Grandma's over the weekend.
I didn't think it was warm enough but we had fun.
Zoe loves the slide this year.
Aaron and his new jet ski.

Cookies!!

I remember making cookies when I was little. It was so much fun spending that time with my mom or grandma. I have been trying to make cookies with the kids for a while, but Zoe was always into trying to eat the flour, butter, or even the raw eggs (yuck). Aaron unfortunately really isn't into making the cookies only eating the batter or the cookies. Just lately Zoe and I had a cookie baking night, and she was awesome. She got her apron out, the bowls, spoons. I love spending this time with her. It just amazes me how her little mind just soaks everything up. She just like me loves to bake. I am so happy I have a baking partner.

Fun filled Saturday....

We went down to the Grand Haven Pier for the first time this year. We planned on walking the pier and then going to get Pronto Pups (yummy)! Instead the kids decided to try out the water and instead of just getting the toes wet they got all wet. Needless to say no Pronto Pups :( but they had fun. Sometimes I think the pier and the beach is one of the best parts of Grand Haven. Its really pretty and I am always for cheap entertainment for the kids.

So over the weekend I had the great idea that I was going to build my kids a sand box. I went to the lumber yard and got what I needed, set up the saw horses got out the saw, tape measure and went to work. Marc helped me a couple of times, but otherwise I worked my heart out building a sandbox for my babies on Saturday. Today we went and got some sand from the sand plant on Lakeshore Dr. That was a great experience. We had the great idea to put the sand in the trailer. After loading the trailer with sand we realized that tires were a little flat, and to make a long story short a 7 min. drive home from there took 20 mins. Aaron was so cute helping unload the sand and taking to the yard. He was the official gate keeper so Koda wouldn't get out and carried the empty wheel barrel back to the trailer. Needless to say the kids love it, and I actually had fun making it for them.
